This brand-new family of chips brings a long-awaited promise to life: reliable, precise hands-free car access and smart sensing in a single solution. In this live demo, four ST64UWB-based anchors are placed in the wheels, together with one UWB-based car key fob.
In real time, the color of each wheel shows exactly where the key fob is: red for out of range, green for unlocking range, and blue for inside the car. The result is impressive: ST64UWB outperforms the current UWB standard and is already ready for what comes next: the IEEE 802.15.4z (FiRa) standard. T
he demo also shows smart sensing in action, with a rear ST64UWB anchor and radar enabling precise kick-motion detection for hands-free trunk opening.
